Application Procedures

Return a completed application form to the school, together with a passport-sized photograph and copies of your school reports for at least the two most recent academic years (preferably all levels for secondary schooling).
If your application is accepted, you will then be sent an offer letter/invoice. If you accept the offer, you send the school the tuition deposit as stated on the application form (which is refundable, apart from a charge for administrative costs, should you fail to obtain a study permit). Please note that all prices are in Canadian dollars.
You will then receive a receipt for the tuition deposit and an official acceptance letter that you can use to apply for a study permit to come to study in Canada. Information on the procedure for obtaining a study permit may be obtained from your nearest Canadian Consulate, or at the Citizenship and Immigration Canada website at http://www.cic.gc.ca.

Costs for the academic program at Signet Christian Academy are competitive as compared with those at other private schools, and for international students certainly lower than those for public schools in Ontario. Costs other than tuition fees, such as health insurance and costs for the school uniform, are very reasonable. Moreover, looking ahead to tertiary education, the Canadian provincial governments heavily subsidize tuition for post-secondary education so that the cost of attending a high-quality university or college is generally much lower in Canada than in other countries.

Signet Christian Academy has negotiated a special health insurance plan for its international students. Participation in the plan is mandatory. Details will be provided as part of the application process. Parents can rest assured that every effort is made to ensure that attending Signet Christian Academy will be a safe and healthy experience for their son or daughter.

Various lodging opportunities are readily available, close to good public transportation and allowing for easy access to places of interest around the city. Popular among the many exciting tourist attractions are the CN Tower, SkyDome, Air Canada Centre, Art Gallery of Ontario, Ontario Science Centre, Ontario Place, Chinatown and the Eaton Centre.

Homestay with a local family is a popular choice. Another is simply the rental of a room in a local dwelling. Yet another option, usually not for students in their first semester at Sigent Christian Academy, is that of sharing an apartment with other students. Accommodation prices vary considerably, depending upon location and degree of luxury. Students have little difficulty, however, finding a place to live that is to their liking.
